Moira trained at
Dartington College of Arts before setting up her studio in Harwich.
Inspired and encouraged by the flourishing artistic community there she
experimented with an exciting range of subjects and media, and it was
here that her bold, distinctive style was born.
Now living and working in Suffolk, Moira concentrates mainly on
landscape and still life, with occasional forays into the world of
portraiture. Her medium of the moment is oils, but she also loves to
paint with pastels, water colours and acrylics, depending on what effect
she is aiming to achieve.
Her stunning canvases are almost expressionistic in mood, capturing the
movement and energy of each scene and brimming with warmth and life. Her
characteristically vibrant palette contributes to this impression,
creating images that are ultimately both inspirational and uplifting.
As well as painting, Moira has a passion for nature and spends some of
her time designing gardens. She finds this both hugely enjoyable and
useful - some of her richest colour combinations are to be found amongst
the herbaceous borders of East Anglia!
Since 2001 Moiras work has been exhibited in an impressive range of
venues all over the country; it is also held in several private
collections both at home and abroad.
