Jaci Hogan is an
Australian artist living and working in Wiltshire, England and has been
painting professionally for 16 years. Jaci started working in the UK in
2003 and has held exhibitions in a number of prestigious venues and
galleries.
Originally, Jaci, who is a self taught artist, started her career in
watercolours, progressing into acrylics on canvas to achieve bigger and
bolder results. Her creative approach is to draw straight onto canvas
and work out the placement of colours like a puzzle, identifying the
finished result as she goes along.
Her stunning collections of contemporary still life vessels have a
traditional softness, with the form and tone of the vessels creating a
peaceful and tranquil effect for onlookers.
Her use of earthy colours are a reflection of her native country; The
natural bush and sea surroundings in Australia providing her inspiration
for form orientated bowels and vases that have a curious attraction
because of their simplicity, often reminding Jaci of a group of people
and how different we all are and yet often complimenting each other in
life.
